Blue Lagoon is also known as Baong Penyu. Baong Penyu itself means turtle's neck (Baong is mean neck and Penyu is mean turtle). Blue Lagoon has been a snorkeling site for many years. Blue Lagoon is just north of Tanjung sari or Silayukti Point, from the turtle's neck peninsula that mark the northern limit of Blue Lagoon all the way to south around Tanjung Sari.

This is a sandy-bottom bay with patches of soft corals and hydroid bushes and some bushes of branching Acropora. Its charm is that it is protected but the coral growth is unremarkable, However, like the other site here, Blue Lagoon can offer a number of interesting surprise for a diver like sharks, octopus, eels, stonefish, crocodile fish and nudibranch.

Blue Lagoon was neither blue nor a lagoon, and in fact on a day we visited it more like greenish bay. The wind had been blowing steadily and this bay really a tiny bay collected a froth of sargasum, candy wrappers, plastic bottles and sea grass leaves

Water condition is bit colder here. On one dive the water temperature drop to 20-Celsius degree, but usually the temperature around 25 - 28 C. So, remember to bring you thickness wetsuit if you want dive here or around Amuk Bay. Another problem come from the plankton that can reduce the visibility, average 15 - 20 meters sometime less, even on one dive I have very clear water, around 40 meters visibility.

There are two mooring boy here, exactly plastic bottle floating with line to the bottom. One mooring located at the turtle's neck area (northern side) and the other one close to Silayukti Temple. We start dive from northern mooring that depth around five meters only. This place is good for set up your buoyancy before explore the others side of this site. From this mooring swim to the depth slope, you will find encrusted rock with big coral head at 15 meters depth. Swim along the slope to the southern area, you will find scattered soft corals on sand. Some hard corals on the shallow depth are ruble.

Close to second mooring, you will find big patch of staghorn acropora with school of sweetlips fish and stonefish. Some time I find a big moray eel here. After passing the staghorn, the reef goes to sand at about twenty meters and lower part of this slope is one of richest area here. The spur of rock extending out from Silayukti Point protects it. Here you can find gorgonians, soft corals and other deep animals.
